Here's a powerful, creative exercise for you.
Clear the area of all distractions (kids, pets, music, computers, spouse, telephone).
All you should have on your desk is a pen or pencil, a blank sheet of paper, a comfortable chair, and yourself.
Now close your eyes and think of your ideal self. Start with physical stuff. What does he/she look like? What age are they? Height? Weight? Hair? Face? Body? Are they even the same sex as you are?. Now on to qualities, skills and virtues. And while you are you are at it, why not include some super powers or magical characteristics too? See it all clearly in your mind's eye.
After you have drawn the rough outline mentally, open your eyes and write down what you just saw. It is very important that you write using a pen or pencil, not on a computer. There is a connection between the subconscious part of your brain and your fingers that can't be transposed using the keyboard of a computer. So get out this blank sheet of paper and write down what your ideal self looks like. Write anything that comes to mind, don't cencor yourself.
